Zaika was conceived as a return to fire, the most ancient of kitchens and the oldest gathering place. In Mandu, evenings have long unfolded around flame: meals cooked slowly, stories exchanged freely, laughter carried on plateau winds. Zaika draws from this tradition, translating it into an open-air grill experience where smoke, warmth and fellowship shape the meal as much as flavour.

Articulating the Concept

Zaika was imagined as a space where food brings people together. Not a formal restaurant, but a gathering, generous, spirited and rooted in ritual. The setting is deliberately open to Mandu's skies. As dusk settles, fire becomes the centre of gravity. The experience is designed to feel instinctive, bold yet measured, familiar yet quietly refined.

Identity & Visual Language

The visual identity for Zaika was built around warmth and tactility. The logo, menu, coasters and tent cards draw from the visual vocabulary of flame, charcoal and smoke, textures that feel scorched, grounded and alive. Typography and layout remain restrained, allowing the elemental nature of the concept to lead.

Food Philosophy & Menu Narrative

At Zaika, fire is the first ingredient. The menu celebrates regional marinades, seasonal produce and fire-kissed textures. Marinades draw from Malwa traditions, mustard, turmeric, jaggery, tamarind, layered with quiet precision. Plates are designed for sharing. The cocktail programme mirrors this philosophy, smoke, spice and fruit meeting in glasses meant to be passed around, not held apart.
