Original engagement led by Shivani Joshi at Pratyaksha Lokpriy Brands LLP.

Victoria Memorial Hall stands at the heart of Kolkata, a marble monument completed in 1921 that now holds one of India's most significant collections of colonial-era art, sculpture and archival material. The engagement focused on repositioning VMH as a contemporary cultural hub, moving the institution from monument-to-be-visited into surface-that-speaks through digital narrative.

The work built a story-driven digital system carrying the Hall's art, architecture and archival material into short-form video, virtual walkthrough and community-led exchange.

Heritage Through Digital Storytelling

Cinematic short-form videos and visual narratives moved through the Hall's art collection, sculpture holdings and archival material. Rarely seen restoration processes and curator perspectives were captured on record, so that the scholarship of the institution met a contemporary audience on its own register.

From Exhibition to Conversation

On-ground exhibitions and cultural events were extended into digital conversation through virtual guided tours of the monument, gardens and biodiversity. Multi-phase event narratives (pre-event teasers, live coverage, post-event reflection) built momentum that lived beyond the day itself. Community co-creation invited visitors and experts to participate.

What Emerged

Cultural creators from art, culture and travel reinterpreted VMH's legacy through their own lenses. Exclusive walkthroughs generated organic social coverage. Facebook views grew twenty-three percent. Instagram reach grew fifty-five percent within two months. Instagram engagement surged one hundred and seven percent. Facebook sustained over 3,700 monthly interactions. Influencer collaborations delivered over 9 lakh total impressions.
